How it works
Step 1: Request Your Appointment
Send us a secure message using the pop-up on the right side of the screen, use the button below, or call us and find out how you can benefit from our Telehealth services. We will then coordinate a referral if needed with your primary care physician and schedule your appointment.
Step 2: Receive your Link
Right before your appointment, we will send you a link to access the virtual waiting room. Your provider will be with you shortly.
Step 3: Meet your GI Specialist
You may have an appointment with an Advanced Care Practitioner or a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist. By choosing the Center for Digestive Health, you are accessing the largest Digestive Care Team in Michigan. We work together to support your health journey.
Step 4: Follow Up
Follow-up can look a few ways: you may need further assessment in one of our ASCs, you may need supportive care with our Salvo Health Program, or you may need additional coordination with your care team. No matter what your journey looks like, we will do our very best to make sure the next steps in your care are clear.

How is the Center for Digestive Health different from other platforms
The Center for Digestive Health is comprised of GI specialists rather than generalists. The Center for Digestive Health is a Michigan-based GI specialty practice with board-certified gastroenterologists and advanced practice providers who offer both virtual visits and in-person procedural care in our own facilities or one of our partner hospitals.
Do I need a referral to request a virtual GI appointment?
It depends on your insurance. We receive referrals from all over the country and the process is easy. We work with your current team to coordinate care so it’s less hassle for you. We recommend confirming with your insurance provider before scheduling, and our team is happy to assist you with this process.
What insurance plans do you accept?
We are in-network with most major insurance providers. Contact our office or request an appointment online, and our team will verify your coverage prior to your visit.
What happens if my virtual visit indicates I need a procedure?
If your GI specialist determines that a diagnostic or therapeutic procedure is warranted—such as a colonoscopy or EGD—your care team will coordinate that appointment within our practice. You will not need to find a new provider or repeat your medical history. We have Endoscopy centers in two convenient locations in Troy and Macomb Township, as well as privileges in other hospitals where we can coordinate care.
Some patients choose to travel from their home the day of the appointment, whereas others choose to book a hotel room nearby.
