Leonard G. Quallich III, MD
LEONARD G. QUALLICH III, MD is Board certified in Internal Medicine and board certified in Gastroenterology. He performed his undergraduate and medical school studies at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Quallich completed his Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology/Hepatology training at the University of Michigan. He is the author of peer-reviewed publications in liver and biliary disease. Dr. Quallich performs all diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures. He has a special interest in pancreatic and biliary diseases and performs endoscopic ultrasound examinations. He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Quallich is on staff at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy.

Hello. I’m Dr. Quallich. I’m one of our gastroenterologists here at the Center for Digestive Health. One of the reasons I became a gastroenterologist because my grandfather died from colon cancer. It’s difficult to see. And the technology now to prevent colon cancer and take care of patients, through both just technology and general medicine, has advanced significantly in the last couple of years.
I went to medical school, and undergraduate, at Case Western Reserve University. And then went to the University of Michigan for both Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology fellowship training. And decided to stick around the area.
I think the best health advice I give my patients is not worry quite so much. We always worry about the worst case scenarios, and it makes us afraid to see our doctors and talk to them, or have honest discussions. And sometimes things are bad, but usually it’s not quite as bad as you think it is. I think that’s the biggest impediment for patients seeking care from their doctors.
